LEGO is naturally engaging to elementary and middle school students. The hands-on solutions ignite children’s natural desire to explore and discover. Students will learn subjects like language, math, science, technology, and engineering more effectively while improving and developing their 21st-century skills, like problem solving, collaboration and communication.
All our sessions use Lego Education kits according to the following age group:
Early Simple Machines
5 – 7 years
Students can observe and investigate simple machines. Discover mechanical principles by exploring, investigating, and solving tasks related to mechanical principles as well as learn about energy, balance, buoyancy, and much more.
5 – 7 years
Students create a broad range of models exercising their creativity and problem solving skills. The models range from simple wearables to functional contraptions like ipad and phone stands, to designing simple and complex games.
6 – 7 years
Students learn about the six simple machines: inclined plane, pulley, wheel and axle, wedge, screw and levers. They develop a qualitative understanding of how these machines work in real life whether it is in their playground, school or home.
1.5 – 2 years
Students create a broad range of models that cover concepts such as: forces and motion, measuring, energy and structures. Using motors they learn to make build self-propelled machines something that does not get covered under conventional curriculum.
WeDo: Build + Code
8 – 11 years
Combining hands-on bricks with easy-to-use coding software and inspiring STEM projects, WeDo enables students to explore the building blocks of coding in a real-world environment. Students learn to develop programming solutions that interact with the real world. Students need to bring an ipad (version 2 upwards) or any other tablet.
Students learn about and understand renewable energy sources, including: solar energy, wind energy and hydro energy. As well as the functionality and capability of of solar cells, wind turbines and hydro-electric power plants.
Students will learn about and understand gas-powered systems.They can investigate the components that comprise the systems, measure pressure in psi and bar, and explore kinetic and potential energy.
